Welcome to 4 Living’s top 10 iconic interiors from film & TV. I’ve judged it on a balance between cult status and genuine interior aesthetics, so it’s entirely subjective! The list may feature a couple of teeny-tiny spoilers, so be careful if you haven’t seen the film. We’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments section below! 10. ‘Fürni’ Apartment (Fight Club) The term iconic seems a little strange when this interior, owned by Edward Norton’s protagonist in Fight Club, is supposed represent everything that is bad about consumer culture. The graphic visuals alone are enough to make it one of the most memorable movie interiors. IKEA have even made this type of graphic interface a reality! 9. Patrick Bateman’s Apartment (American Psycho) Just [&hellip

Did you know the colour that you choose for the sofas in the house can help change the mood of the home? This is because they help to bring out your personality and can influence a person’s thought as well as the mood of the day. colour affects people in various ways depending on a person’s ethnic background, gender, age or local climate. There are some colours however that tend to get the same reaction from many people. The overall difference lies in the tones or shades used. It is therefore important to choose the colour of the sofa wisely.  It is also important to understand that colours generally behave in 3 ways neutral, passive and active. Light colours are airy and expansive which makes [&hellip

Weird and wonderful interior accessories are our prey, and they don’t get too much weirder or wonderfuler than this bedroom chandelier. The chandelier uses specifically positioned ‘branches’ to project a series of branch-like shadows on to the wall. I have searched far and wide for the owner of this image and the designer so I can credit them, and potentially link to a store that sells them, but I can’t find anything! If this is your lamp, please comment below so we can shed a little LIGHT on the back story. Here are some random initial thoughts: -How are the branches so focussed? Surely the sharpness of the shadow depends on how far away the walls are? Perhaps they are adjustable. -This is, to be fair, [&hellip

Last week Apple unveiled early digital renders of what will become their new company HQ. The $5 billion project looks exactly what you’d imagine an iFlyingsaucer would look like. The most striking thing about the architectural design of the building is quite clearly the huge ring which makes up the main building. I mean, you wouldn’t be at all shocked if it suddenly started spinning and took off! The beautiful building, which looks as if it’s made of millions of iPads, was not the only focus. As you can see, the main building sits with an area of incredible naural beauty, something which architect, Norman Foster was incredibly keen to factor in.     &nbsp

I love that people are still coming up with crazy stuff like this. You’d think, that after thousands of years of development, we wouldn’t find a new way to shower- You would be wrong. As you can see in the video, the horizontal shower is very much a luxury item. It’s not some weird new attachment to make an ordinary shower more difficult to use! Practicality may not have been at the forefront of the designers’ mind, that’s all I’m saying. Personally, I need a good shower to wake me up in the morning. Lying down and being showered by these luxurious waterfalls might seem like a nice thing to do every now and again, but there is no doubt it my mind that i [&hellip

Sometimes the only way to stay up to date with fashions is to be ahead of time. The world of interiors is absolutely no exception, so I’ve put on my detective hat and found a few of the big up and coming trends for the next 12 months or so. Geometric patterns A big throwback to the design innovations of the 70’s. The geometric patterns back then were part of a movement to create what they thought would be the styles of the future. The same sort of movement behind making Captain Scarlet in the future, but also basically still the 70’s. A lot of the space suits, and brown upholstery they predicted was pretty off the mark, but does the ‘throwback’ return of geometric [&hellip

Check out our newest video: the beautiful ‘Wave’ solid oak sideboard. As with all of Ethnicraft’s pieces it has its own unique character, as well as tremendous versatility. The contemporary clean lines of the Wave sideboard allow it to look fantastic in a contemporary room setting, whilst the general shape of the piece has its roots in a more retro design. you can certainly see some sort of connection between the Ethnicraft Wave sideboard and retro styles such as this. the modular design of the cupboards and drawers are clearly inspired by 70’s styles, but have been given the ‘contemporary treatment’ The solid oak board, running the whole way around the sideboard, helps to create a a visually balanced piece. With drawers only being on [&hellip

Imagine doing a bit of home refurbishment and coming across a full monopoly board, painted on to the hardwood floorboards. That’s exactly what happened to Redditor ‘Nnewel’ when they moved into their new place! I don’t think this is quite what they had in mind when they got into property development. (That joke was the product of over 4 minutes of hard brain thinking). I feel like a Monopoly floor is something that you should mention to any prospective buyers when you’re showing them the home. “Oh by the way, the floor is Monopoly, the master bedroom is en suite and the wardrobe is a portal to a mystical land” Upon further examination, I have realised that one of the spaces has a silhouette of  [&hellip
