All furniture manufacturers have a responsibility to use high quality and aesthetically pleasing wood. 4 Living believe that the responsibilities don’t end there, and that it is also important that our wood sources are ethical and environmentally sustainable. For this reason we have chosen to supply only reclaimed teak furniture.

The furniture from 4 Living’s teak range are sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified forests. This means that the forests are well managed and, most, importantly are replanted at the rate they are harvested. This process is sustainable and allows the teak to be replenished.

Teak usually grows in tropical climates such as South East Asia and the Caribbean. It is an extremely dense wood and is renowned for its versatility. The oils naturally found in teak make it resistant extremely resistant to water and adverse weather conditions, which makes it a popular choice for outdoor furniture, sculptures and shop fronts.

Whereas furniture made from a softer wood may require layers of glazing and paint, the natural oils in teak remove the need for any such treatment. The lack of chemical varnishes etc only adds to the Eco-friendly nature of the wood.

The pieces in the Horizon range are stunningly stylish and maintain a perfect balance between contemporary lines and natural wood tones. The nourished and healthy looking teak wood really shows its natural grain and knots. The teak is cut into panels which are evenly spaced and horizontally attached to the core structure. This range features a stylish bed, 4 drawer chest, wardrobe and a nightstand, as well as the attractive and unique shoe storage cabinet and tall locker.

Reclaimed teak furniture works fantastically well in any room. The soft natural grain and nourished tones of the wood can help create a relaxing environment in even the darkest of rooms. You can either choose a single statement piece to add to your existing furniture, or choose several pieces from a single range to create a coordinated, contemporary look.

The Groove teak dresser stands at a huge 2.18 metres tall and 2 metres wide. With its 8 cupboards and 4 drawers it has ample storage space including extremely stylish glass panels and contemporary metal handles on the cupboards.
