The 4 Living showroom is situated just outside Brighton in East Sussex and here you will find on display our range of organic mattresses made by Essentia as well as selected pieces from our ranges of solid wood furniture including our oriental lacquer furniture, Walnut furniture, Teak furniture and eco friendly furniture collections. We also have on display a number of very unusual lamps made from glass, ceramics and wood that complement our furniture ranges perfectly. More details
Within our showroom, a number of room sets are laid out to provide inspiration and ideas on how you can create a contemporary or Oriental style in your own home. Our helpful sales assistants are also on hand to answer any questions you have about buying a healthy mattress and you can feel for yourself the comfort and quality of our natural memory foam designs.
So if you are looking for a healthy mattress or want furniture ideas and advice come and visit us just outside Polegate East Sussex. Just 54 miles from London and 13 or so from Brighton, we are very close to the outlying towns of Eastbourne, Friston and Hailsham and ideally located to serve the whole of the south of England. The 4 Living range of Oriental & Contemporary Furniture
4 Living range of oriental furniture is finished in black lacquer or linen white lacquer with stressed edge detail and some pieces also come with ornate brass handles to complete the look. Whatever colour you opt for, whether it’s the black lacquered furniture finish, or the linen white lacquered furniture finish, you can be assured that each piece has been created to the same high standards. Each piece has been lacquer coated no less than 7 times to give it that authentic, typically dark, or light hue.
Some unusual statement pieces have been created to compliment both our black and linen white lacquered furniture ranges. We have paired our black lacquered furniture range with a stunning Fujian styled cabinet, hand crafted from Elm wood. Its contemporary pale cream lacquer finish and beautiful butterfly design, symbolic of love and bliss in the Chinese tradition, have been hand painted to create this unique piece.
With our linen white lacquered furniture range in mind, we wanted something that would stand out and compliment the range, but not overpower it. We feel we have achieved this through our selection of a beautiful, hand painted clothes cabinet in vibrant teal blue. Its lacquered finish is further complimented by rounded brass face plates which themselves represent eternity and some beautifully hand painted butterflies and flowers in silver.

The 4 Living Range of Eco Friendly Furniture
Bamboo is one of the most versatile and sustainable eco-friendly materials on the planet and its natural colouring means it looks beautiful too. For this reason bamboo is becoming more and more popular. For example bamboo fabrics are appearing in high fashion, bamboo is used for flooring and now it is being used to make eco friendly furniture and home accessories.
Contemporary bamboo furniture is made using high-tech engineered laminated solid bamboo rather than the raw cane that has been used to make conservatory furniture for many years now. This enables furniture pieces to be created with elegant, straight edged designs - which are much more stylish and better suited to the modern home.
Our in-house designer Jo-Anne Wright has created some wonderful pieces of bamboo furniture that complement each other perfectly and look simply stunning in any room set. She also displays a range of dark chocolate stained bamboo furniture so, whether you opt to furnish your bedroom, living room or dining room in bamboo, you can choose from the lighter caramel tones of natural bamboo or a dark chocolate stain which looks equally stunning.

The 4 Living Range of Walnut Furniture
Walnut furniture has been popular since the early 18th century and its popularity shows no sign of waning. We have therefore chosen to market two ranges of walnut furniture, one made of solid walnut and the other, from walnut veneer.
Our walnut furniture ranges consist of pieces for the bedroom and the lounge. We offer walnut beds, side tables and dressing tables or consoles as well as wardrobes, chests of drawers and wall mirrors. For the lounge or sitting room we offer walnut chests and side boards, bookcases, coffee tables and lamp tables
