Bamboo Furniture | Eco Friendly Furniture Collection
Recently 4 Living became the first UK company to launch a collection of modern bamboo furniture. Engineered solid bamboo has become very popular lately for sustainable and hardwearing solid wood flooring.
About Bamboo
Bamboo grows to full maturity within just one growing season. It does not require pesticides or replanting as the roots remain in the ground and the bamboo replenishes itself automatically after harvest.
Bamboo is possibly the most eco-friendly of plants, it removes more than 3 times the amount of CO2 than trees, releasing more oxygen and helping to retain water and prevent soil erosion in the process.
It is a quick growing plant, reaching a meter a day in season. Extremely versatile and very hard like Oak, it is the perfect medium for creating fine pieces of long-lasting yet delicate looking furniture and the reason we decided to create a contemporary bamboo furniture collection. Interestingly, although bamboo is very strong and often tougher than most hard woods, it is technically a grass.
We offer two distinct finishes
We only use the cleanest E0 European standard adhesives and water based lacquer finishes in our bamboo furniture making processes, making it a truly eco-friendly furniture collection. As with our other furniture collections our bamboo eco furniture is wrapped in 100% recyclable packaging.
Our Boutique bamboo furniture collection is available in a natural caramel finish as well as a dark chocolate brown. Both finishes reveal the unique and distinctive grain of the "wood".
British designer Jo-Anne Wright has designed the Boutique collection exclusively for 4 Living. One of the design features of her bamboo furniture is the curved ribbing pattern on the doors and drawers. The bamboo ribbing is achieved using a high tech precision routing machine.
