BOSTON OAK FURNITURE CARE ADVISE
Please always handle with care to ensure your oiled Oak furniture stays in its beautiful condition.
As it is made from natural Oak wood please do not place your Oak furniture in extremely dry and/or sunny places (conservatories) to avoid excessive cracking.
CLEANING
Do not use abrasive detergents on your Oak furniture.
Just wash with water and a little soap if needed.
MAINTENANCE
To care for your Oak furniture please use nourishing wood oil such as Liberon Finishing Oil which is available from any DIY store. Apply the oil evenly with a soft cloth going with the natural grain of the Oak wood to avoid catching and damaging the Oak veneer.
Modern central heating can dry the atmosphere inside the home causing damage to wooden furniture and flooring and also causes dry eyes, throat, skin problems, tiredness etc., especially in winter. Use a radiator humidifier or electric humidifier in your rooms to improve humidity and create a healthy atmosphere for you and your furniture. Nevertheless fine hairline cracks may occur in any wooden Oak furniture or flooring.
REPAIR
If you have difficult to remove stains in your Oak furniture then gently use ‘0000’ very fine steel wool (available from any DIY store) on the affected area. Clean with a wet cloth as well if needed. Leave to dry and then re-apply oil once or twice.
